CRFFN Yet To Inaugurate Governing Council Board – Tanko

The Council For The Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), says it has not inaugurated members of the Governing Council Board contrary to News making the rounds in some quarters that the Council Board has been inaugurated.

newly elected member of the CRFFN Board, and Chairman NAGAFF Compliance Team ,Tanko Ibrahim in Lagos yesterday.

, Alhaji Tanko also debunked claims of imposition of Abubakar Tsani as the Chairman and Chief Henry Njoku as Vice Chairman as false and the figment of imagination of those who didn’t mean well for the Council .

According to Tanko, the Emergence of Tsanni Abubakar as Chairman and Henry Njoku as Vice, was done by consensus. “There were 32 members present, when the Hon. Minister of Transport walked in and told us that he had other engagements for the day hence, he will not spend more than one minute with us. He then said that the status quo will remain, that Tsanni should remain as Chairman, we all agreed because we were in support of this.

Continuing, Tanko revealed that this was the consensus they reached before the meeting with Amaechi.

“We the Nagaff people all agreed that we should support Tsanni Abubakar, ” he revealed.

On the Vice Chairman position, “it was only Princess Chi Ezeh that indicated interest from our own side to vie for this position. We asked her how prepared she was for the contest, she said she was ready but she didn’t say a word when the Vice Chairmanship position was mentioned at the meeting and the former Vice Chairman, Chief Henry Njoku was renominated and endorsed for that position, he narrated.

When asked if there was any imposition as alleged in some sections of the media, Tanko said there is no iota of truth in that.
In his words, “There is no issues here, it was an agreement by all of us.what we arrived at was what played out. Nobody opposed what the Minister said, that was exactly what happened, it was a popular decision before he left for another meeting as he told us earlier.”

On the issue of inauguration, Tanko said there was no inauguration, ” they only called for a meeting, not inauguration. The meeting as I explained was for us to endorse or reject those appointments not for inauguration or swearing in as wrongly reported.
It was only the legal Director of the Ministry of Transportation who told us that they will call us for the inauguration Ceremony and swearing in soon, not the Minister, he said.

Corroborating Tanko’s position was an invitation letter sent out by the Transport ion Ministry, signed by the Asst. Director, Inland Container Depots, Mr Ekanem U. David on behalf of the Minister of Transportation, dated 21st. April, 2022 with the title: “Invitation For A Meeting.”
