The atmosphere at the Headquarters of the Nigeria Customs Service, Ogun 1 Command, Idiroko, took a different dimension on 11 January 2024. It was a celebration galore throughout the day, as the newly promoted officers were decorated and celebrated by their fellow colleagues, families and friends.
During the ceremony, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Ahmadu Shuaibu, who was ably represented by the Deputy Comptroller Administration due to his official engagement at the Service Headquarters Abuja, while congratulating the promoted officers, expressed gratitude to God for His grace on the promotion.
He appreciated the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi MFR dsm fnipr psc(+) and the Customs Board for finding the promoted officers worthy of promotion. He charged the officers to redouble their efforts and see their promotion as a call to higher responsibility.
In his words: “Your promotion is a privilege, many of you sat for the promotion examination but not all got promoted. You have to live up to expectations , to whom much is given much is expected “.
The newly promoted Comptroller A A Abdulkadir and former Deputy Comptroller, in charge of Valuation in the Command, who graced the occasion , advised the promoted officers to do things differently from their usual ways such as dressing, communication and level of performance, among others. He also charged them to expect higher responsibilities and more tasks ahead.
At the occasion, four Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSCs), three Superintendent of Customs (SCs), seven Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSCs), three Assistant Superintendent of Customs I (ASCs I ) and two Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASCs II) were decorated with their new ranks.
In conclusion, the command according to the report, is blessed with the promotion of three Comptrollers of Customs, including the Customs Area Controller, nine Assistant Comptrollers, 16 Chiefs Superintendent, including the Command spokesperson, among others.
