The Federal Government has condemned in strong terms the despicable and utterly barbaric kidnapping of passengers at Tom Ikimi Train Station Igueben Edo State.
This formed part of the latest press statement, released by the Director, Press & Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Transportation,
Henshaw Ogubike.
The statement also revealed that the Nigerian Police and other security agencies are on the trail of culprits involved in this criminal act.
The statement reads : “The Public is hereby reassured that security agencies are making efforts to rescue the kidnapped Train passengers.
“The operatives of Nigerian Police are on the trail of the criminals and have mobilised with a view to protecting the lives and property of the remaining passengers.
“The Government is saddened by this unpleasant development and assures its prompt response to the ugly situation”.
